The Santos Foundation is a development organisation that works in partnership with governments, donors, and local communities to drive positive change and help communities thrive.

Our approach is grounded in collaboration. We engage local leaders and stakeholders to ensure our initiatives align with national development priorities and community aspirations. This ensures our work is not only responsive to immediate needs but also builds a sustainable foundation for long-term growth and resilience.

Where We Work

The Foundation operates in regions where Santos Ltd has a presence. We currently work in Papua New Guinea and Australia, and working towards developing program activity in Timor-Leste and Alaska. Our work is shaped by the passion, knowledge, and experience of our local teams and partners, and continues to grow as we respond to community needs and opportunities.

How We Work

We follow a five-step development model to ensure our programs are effective and community-led:

  • Identify community needs or development challenges through listening to communities
  • Co-design solutions with communities, local partners and stakeholders
  • Leverage funding and resources from Santos, joint-venture partners, contractors, and donors
  • Deliver programs that are culturally responsive and community-driven
  • Monitor and evaluate outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and accountability
